Udupi too will launch Sand Bazaar App : DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati

Udupi, July 05, 2019:  Udupi Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has informed that Udupi district administration too would be launching a Sand Bazaar App wherein citizens can  get sand at an affordable rate delivered at their doorsteps thus avoiding middlemen in the process. It may be recalled here that a similar App has already been launched in Dakshina Kannada district.

 

The DC said the App is  in the stage of designing and once launched sand will be available only through this app. She was presiding over the District Sand Coordination Committee meeting at  her office on July 4, Thursday.

Once the App is launched people can order for sand from the nearest place and can even check the rates. There is also no need for the public to  hire vehicle for the purposes. Even sand contactors and  drivers have to register   on the App, the DC said.

 Additional DC Vidya Kumari,  officials of the Department of Mines and Geology and others were present.
