Udupi has potential for an IT Park :Vinaykumar Sorake

Udupi, Jul 7, 2013: Udupi District Minister and State Minister for Urban Development Vinaykumar Sorake has said that the Udupi district had a lot of potential for an IT park.

Speaking at the inaugural function of an awareness camp on export promotion here on July 6, Saturday, he said he would talk to the Information Technology Minister on the necessity of setting up of an IT Park in Udupi. Continuing, Sorake said an IT Park would also throw up a host of employment opportunities to the youth. At the same time, the minister had a regret that the district could not see much progress on the industrial front despite earmarking 2500 acres of land for the purpose.

The Minister also assured to look into the suggestion of the Udupi Chamber of Commerce regarding setting up of commercial ports at Kundapur, Gangolli and Hungarakatte.

The function was jointly organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Udupi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) and Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre on Saturday.
