Udupi : Youth convicted for killing parents ; gets lifer

Udupi, Mar 13, 2015: The Additional District and Sessions Court here has on March 12, Thursday passed a judgement sentencing a youth named Suresh Marakala to life imprisonment for killing his parents.

Udupi : Youth convicted for killing parents ; gets lifer The convict Suresh(29) is from Honnekumbri in Heggunje village of the taluk.

The incident had taken place on the afternoon of May 2, 2012 when Suresh who grew angry when his parents refused to pay him money as demanded, hacked them to death using a wooden club at a time when they were asleep. He had then dumped the bodies in a nearby cashew plantation.

Even in the past he had pestered his parents Babi Marakalti (60) and Heriya Marakala (65) for money.

The charge sheet was filed by DT Prabhu, the then Circle Inspector of Brahmavar Police Station.
