Udupi, Nov 30, 2015:  Two residents of Kunjibettu in Udupi, both Ayyappa devotees and relatives,  have met a watery grave in  the pond of the Shree Venkatramana Temple at Karamballi on November 29, Sunday.

The deceased  are Ashok  and his nephew Udaya.  It is  said Ashok who had been to the temple, had accidentally slipped and fell into the temple pond. Udaya who saw him drowning, rushed to his  rescue, but he too eventually drowned.

The deceased Ashok was running a roadside omelette shop at Kadiyali. Local MLA Pramod Madhwaraj  and many others  visited the Ajjarkad Government Hospital where the bodies were taken after retrieving them from the pond.

A case has been registered by Manipal Police.

The steps of temple are slippery but we devote our self to God and get into water having a feeling that God will rescue us. What happened. But a sad incident.RIP.
