Udupi, April 12, 2016: Udupi police have arrested a gang of three members including a woman of Rajasthan origin on suspicion that they were plotting to rob passersby at Kakkunje Cross at Perampalli in Shivalli village.
The arrest was made on April 11 Monday after the locals tipped off the police about the suspicious movement of some people who were waiting by a parked car and were speaking in Hindi.
The police who duly swung into action, arrested the three persons identified as Suresh Choudhary, Premlal Jat and Durga alias Divya, all from Rajasthan. Meanwhile two others of the same gang, namely Omprakash and Nathuram managed to flee by abandoning their arms.
It has been gathered that interrogations of the arrested revealed their plans to rob passersby. Police have seized a Tata Indica car, chilly powder, blade, saw, pointed weapon, torch, Aadhaar card and a cash of Rs 2000 from them.
Sources said the arrested persons also informed that as many as 200 criminals from their state have landed in the district and are planning robberies and thefts.

Hats Off to the locals . Instead of waiting for the police its better you have captured the team of culprits and later handed them to police. At least to some extent can reduce the crime taking place |
