Udupi, Aug 19, 2015: A 17 year old boy who was riding a Honda Activa has been fatally run over by a tanker in a hit and run case which took place on the National Highway 77 at Santhekatte on August 19, Wednesday.

The deceased youth is Supreeth, son of Prabhaker Shetty  of Chantaru near Kunjalu in Brahmavar. The mishap occurred near the Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple when  Supreeth was  heading towards Udupi. It is learnt,  another two-wheeler brushed past Supreeth’s vehicle when he veered to the left and a tanker which was behind rammed into his vehicle and fled the place. Supreeth died on the spot.

The accident caused disruption in traffic on the route for some time. Udupi traffic police have registered a case.
