Udupi : Pregnant Covid-19 patient from Bhatkal recovers; discharged from hospital

Udupi, April 24, 2020: A 26 year old pregnant woman from Bhatkal who was completely cured of Coronavirus was discharged from the TMA Pai Covid Hospital of Udupi on Friday.

The woman had contracted the disease from her husband who had returned from Gulf. Her case was considered a special case and she was admitted to the TMA Pai Hospital. She was discharged after two reports came out negative.

On Friday the hospital staff bid her a farewell by gifting her flowers, fruits and sweets. Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha, SP Vishnuvardhana, ZP CEO Preethi Gehlot, District Health Officer Sudhirchandra Sooda and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha said the administration ensured the best of treatment to the patient in the Udupi Covid Hospital and added that this case was taken up as a challenge. Her recovery and discharge from hospital is a good news for Udupi district, he said.

The woman who was discharged expressed her gratitude to the doctors, nurses and the district administration for providing her the best treatment.
