Udupi : Notorious bike thief in police net

Udupi, Nov 9,2016 : Police have arrested a youth identified as Pradeep Rama Moily (29) hailing from Inna village near Padubidri on the charges of  stealing motor bikes.  Valuables worth Rs 2.83 lakhs including  four motor bikes and two gold chains have been seized. Three other motor bikes stolen by Pradeep had been seized by the police earlier itself.

 

It has been gathered that Pradeep who was an expert in vehicle lifting, used to ride his bike to whichever place he wanted and eventually used to abandon the vehicle. He even  used to visit jewellery shops in the guise  of a customer and steal gold chains. The chains recovered from him were  stolen from Lulu Jewellers of Padubidri and Kripa Jewellery of Shirva.

It is said his craze to lead a life of luxury was the reason behind  the several thefts committed by him. Three of the bikes which he had stolen were found parked  outside his  wife’s parental home, and have been seized.
He even used to change registration numbers of stolen bikes. His arrest was possible   after  observing the CCTV footages of some jewellery shops.
