Udupi : Missing hotelier murdered ; wife, son taken into custody

Udupi Aug 6, 2016: Missing Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty has been murdered and body was burnt to ashes near a temple at Nandalike on August 6th.

Bhaskar Shetty missing Udupi Bhaskar Shetty was the owner of Hotel Durga International in Udupi and he was missing mysteriously from July 28th and his family speculated that he was kidnapped over financial matters.

Police took his wife Rajeshwari and son Navneeth to custody, during interrogation Navneeth admitted that they murdered Bhaskar on July 28th with the help of the priest Niranjan Bhat.

They shifted the body to the temple in Nandalike and conducted homa and burnt his body into ashes.

It is said that Bhaskar was running business in Saudi and hande over the charge of Hotel to his wife, but he found misappropriation in funds and came back to hometown to settle down the matter with his wife and son. This incident triggered the duo to eliminate Bhaskar on July 28th.

Priest Niranjan Bhat is absconding and search is on.
