Udupi: KCSC to celebrate Onam on Sep 6

Udupi: September 5, 2015: The Kerala Cultural and Social Centre will celebrate Onam here on September 6. The 23rd anniversary of the KCSC too would be celebrated on the occasion.

 

Addressing presspersons here, Mohandas P.A., secretary of the centre, said the celebrations would begin with ‘Athapookkalam’ competition from 8.30 a.m.

Entertainment

This would be followed by a variety entertainment programme at 10 a.m.

Gokulam Gopalan, chairman of the Gokulam Group of Companies, would inaugurate both the celebrations at 10.30 a.m.

P. Yuvaraj, president of the Udupi City Municipal Council, and Sridhar Shenav, District Lions Governor are expected to be the chief guests.

This would be followed by a lunch ‘Onasadya’.

The celebrations would conclude with music and dance by Ocean Kids troupe from Mangaluru at 2.30 p.m., Mr. Mohandas said.

Ravindran, Ibrahim Kutty, T.A. Raviraj, Suguna Kumar, office-bearers of the centre, were present.
