Udupi: Housewife found dead in well; husband taken to custody

Udupi, May 1, 2015 : The body  of a housewife has been found inside a  well  at Jannadi Bidlakatte near Malady village  on May 1, Friday. The cause of her death is not known. Meanwhile police have taken her husband into custody following suspicion.

The deceased woman is Indira (33), wife of Devendra. According to sources the couple  were involved in a quarrel on April 30, Thursday night  over the issue of admitting their six year old son to a school. It has also been gathered that Devendra was an alcoholic and used to often quarrel with his wife over monetary issues.

It is said Devendra telephoned a relative at around 5.30 am on Friday to inform that his wife was found dead inside a well close by their house.

Indira who was at her parental home had returned to Malady two days ago. Though she was planning to return on April 30, she could not  due to the  bus strike.

Kota police are investigating the case.
