Udupi : Honest auto driver Krishnappa returns bag of valuables

Udupi, Sep 9, 2015: In a case of exemplary honesty, an autorickshaw driver of Doddanagudde has returned a bag containing jewels worth Rs one lakh apart from valuable documents to its rightful owner who had travelled in his autorickshaw but had left it behind accidentally.

Honest auto driver Krishnappa returns bag of valuables

A woman named Sheetal had travelled in Krishnappa’s autorickshaw along with her two year old child from Doddanagudde Adishakti Temple to Kadiyali. However, she left behind her bag which Krishnappa noticed much later. Wasting no time, he headed towards Kadiyali and managed to trace the woman who was at a loss not finding her bag. She was extremely pleased when a honest Krishnappa returned her bag intact. Though she offered him a reward, he politely refused it saying he has done his duty by returning the bag to its owner.

Krishnappa (65) who worked as an engine mechanic for a shipping firm in Dubai has been driving autorickshaw since eight years.
