Udupi: Gang attacks innocent youth, CCTV captures incident

Udupi, March 25, 2024: In a troubling incident within the Saralebettu region of Manipal, a young individual endured a brutal assault at the hands of a gang comprising six local youths. The entire assault was captured on CCTV footage.

The victim, identified as Arush Kumar (21), originally from Mumbai and a student at a private college in Manipal, was targeted following an unintentional collision with one of the assailants at a local bar known as D & T Bar in Manipal, where the gang was consuming alcohol.The assailants did not limit their aggression to the bar alone; they relentlessly pursued Arush to his residence at Manjunath Apartment, where he resides alone. There, they continued their merciless assault, obstructing Arush from entering his apartment. Fortunately, Arush’s friends arrived at the scene, though the gang’s aggression persisted. Subsequently, they further intimidated Arush by calling his mobile phone and issuing threats of additional violence.

Upon examination of the CCTV footage, the Manipal police promptly reached out to Arush, gathered necessary information, and filed a complaint.

Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing the culprits to bring them to justice.
