Udupi, Jan 3, 2017 : A scooterist lost his life when a car in which some students were travelling rammed against the two-wheeler at Uppoor K G Road on January 2, Monday. It has been learnt that the students in the car were under the influence of alcohol.
The deceased person is Appu Chala Bangera (57) from Ammunje. There were a total of four students in the car including the driver and all of them were from Manipal. The deceased Appu was the owner of D R Bakery at Kolalagiri and was on way home after closing his shop.
Though the car too had toppled due to the impact of the collision, the students were not hurt. The scooter of Appu was however badly mangled.
