Udupi : Cops on the lookout for a man who allegedly molested Punjabi lady

Udupi, Sep 23, 2015:  Kaup police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly molested a Punjabi woman who resides in Mallar near Kaup.

It is said the accused identified as Saleem (32) had molested the  woman on September 21 at around 7 pm  taking advantage of the absence of her husband at her house.

Saleem lived in the neighbourhood and is a married man and a father of a child.

The woman’s husband, also a Punjabi works as a driver at Malpe. The woman is presently admitted to the Government hospital.

The  couple has  accused the police of causing delay in registering a complaint. It has been gathered that the police visited the hospital on September 22 afternoon to take her statement. Even SP Annamalai met the couple  at the hospital.

The accused Saleem who earlier worked abroad was often staring at  the Punjabi woman who had often complained about it with her husband.

In another development, the wife of the accused Saleem has lodged a counter complaint accusing the Punjabi woman’s husband of harassing her.

Investigations are underway.
