Udupi, June 13, 2016: Msgr Baptist Menezes, Vicar General of Udupi Diocese inaugurated the Annual General Meeting and Reunion of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh at a function held at St. Mary’s English Medium School, Kannapadi on June 12, Sunday.
In his address, Baptist Menezes was all praise for the several programmes organised by the Sabha. He also stressed the need for greater awareness among the minorities on the various schemes envisaged by the government for their welfare.
Ronald D’Souza, NRI entrepreneur who also spoke was appreciative of the leadership qualities and unity among members of the Catholic Sabha and the good work the organisation is doing for the community.
The function was presided over by William Machado, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh. Thomas Quadros, former president of Mangaluru Region of Catholic Sabha, Veronica Cornelio, Chairperson of KSDL, Flavy D’Souza, President of Catholic Sabha, Mangaluru Region, Ferdinand Gonsalves, Spiritual Director and others were present.
The Francis Danthi Memorial Literary Award was presented to Fr Richard Menezes on the occasion.
Wilson Rodrigues, Michael D’Souza, Melvyn D’Souza, Renita D’Souza, Voilet Baretto, Glevan D’Souza, Royston, Vijay Castelino and other achievers in various fields were honoured on the occasion.
The new committee of the Sabha was announced on the occasion with Valerian D’Souza as the new President and Jacintha Colaco as Secretary.
Outstanding units of Catholic Sabha were also felicitated.
