Udupi , Dec 05, 2017 : Police have arrested seven person in connection with the robbing off a jeweller with 4.11 kg of gold  by armed robbers in Netravati Express train from Thirvunanthapuram in Kerala to Panvel at Suratkal o September 17.

 

arrest 5 dec 17Rohith Shetty (31) of Madikeri, Yogishwar (24)  of Rajasthan, Pintu Arjun Chowdhary (32)  of Bihar, Mukhtar Ibrahim (24)& Riyaz (30) of Kasargod, PK Murugan (49) of Thrissur and Prabhulal Gurjar (30) of Rajasthan are identified as  accused arrested.


The jeweller Rajendra Singh, had filed a complaint in Padubidri police station. As per the complaint, Singh, a native of Rajasthan working for a jewellery company based in Mumbai was travelling by Netravati Express train from Thirvunanthapuram in Kerala to Panvel near Mumbai. When the train reached Suratkal station, four armed men got into the train and robbed Singh of his gold.The robbers brandished a pistol and a knife him ,had suffered minor injuries,managed to flee. They robbed him of gold bangles weighing 4.11 kg, which he had kept in a suitcase.

Police  have seized 1.06 Kg of gold worth of 31.80 lakhs, a Hyundai car worth Rs 8 lakh, a country revolver with 2 bullets, gold melting machine worth Rs 10000, six mobile phones, a knife and cash Rs 3720  from the accused.


Investigations are underway.
