Udupi, July 13, 2016: A team comprising officials from the Department of Labour and Child Protection Unit rescued as many as five children of Rajashtan origin who were found begging in different parts of the city on July 12, Tuesday. The children were later entrusted to the care of Balamandira, a rehabilitation home for children.
It is said the children even rolled on the road and started crying when officials tried to prevent them from begging. A total of seven people from two families were found begging. The woman who was with the children was admitted to the Balamandira at Nittur.
