Udupi: 2 dead, several injured as buses collide near Karje

Udupi, Dec 27, 2014: A head-on collision between two buses at Guddeyangady near Karje on December 26, Friday  resulted in the death of two persons including a woman. Several passengers also sustained injuries in the accident.

A mini bus in which factory workers were heading towards Karje from Baidebettu and a private bus operating on Hebri-Brahmavar route were involved in the accident.

One of the deceased has been identified as  Durgavva (28) hailing from Bagalkot. The drivers of the two buses Satish and Udaya who were seriously injured in the accident  are being treated at Manipal Hospital.

Other injured passengers are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Brahmavar. Local police have registered a case.
