Udupi, Jan 10, 2018: A 17 year old girl has lost her life allegedly due to complications following intake of some allopathic tablets prescribed by an Ayurvedic practitioner to cure pimple problems. The girl breathed her last at the KMC Hospital at Manipal following multiple organ failure.
The deceased has been identified as Namratha, a first PUC student of Vidyalaya PU College. It is said she had visited an Ayurvedic practitioner at Parkala last week and was prescribed four allopathic tablets. Though it is not yet clear as to the dosage of the medicines, the girl had developed high fever and was admitted to the hospital wherein the doctors reportedly told her family that the problem had arisen due to a drug overdose.
So far no complaint has been made. Meanwhile, the College where Namratha studied had declared a holiday on Wednesday as a mark of respect to the deceased student.
