Udupi: 13 injured as truck laden with cement mixer rams against bus

Udupi, July 9,2016: Thirteen people were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck belonging to the Navayug company which was laden with cement mixing machine, at Muloor on July 8, Friday. The mishap occurred when the truck rammed against the bus from the rear when it had stopped to enable passengers to get down.

The rear of the bus and the front portion of the truck were badly mangled due to the impact of the collision. Traffic was also affected on the route for some time. Negligent driving on the part of the truck driver is blamed for the accident.

The injured bus passengers have been hospitalised. Even the truck driver was injured in the mishap.

Locals alleged that the company was using old vehicles and that the one involved in the mishap might have possibly failed to come to a halt even after the driver applied brakes.

We realize after such incidents but we be in a stage where we cannot recover it. So sorry about the people injured in the accident. The innocents become the target for such accidents

The concrete mixing truck looks quite old . Sometimes we cannot take action on driver alone , he just works on the basis of salary. The company responsible to see to the maintenance of the vehicle . Udupi bus forget they are the masters of the roads. We wish the speedy recovery of the injured people in the bus.

We blame some body or the other for these incidents . The mani reason is the carelessness and the reckless of the person driving the vehicle. so many are injured
