President of the association Clayton Monis has appealed community members to participate in large numbers and be part of the celebrations.

Merlin Mendonca, Chair, MCA-EC Decennial Committee stated that  10 years back, the Mangaloreans living in the United States New York Area came together and formed a socio-cultural organization (Mangalorean Catholic Association EC Inc. - MCA-EC) which quickly morphed into a US government recognized [501(C)(3)] non-profit organization for Charity and Education. With a large member base of active members spreading across the East Cost of USA.  MCA-EC is considered as the most vibrant organization attracting about 400 members for each of its 3 flagship events (Christmas Gala, Summer Picnic and Monthi Fest) every year. Some of these events are featured in the TV Asia program,  and other media world over. In alignment with its mission of “Connecting People and Promoting Culture”, MCA-EC has been able to connect people globally and promote the rich Mangalorean and Konkani culture among the new generation living in USA. It has been performing charity events (Food bank, Habitat for Humanity, Soup kitchen, Financial assistance, For the Kids by the Kids etc.) and educational programs (Youth leadership, Empower me series, Konkani classes etc.) throughout the year. Furthermore, MCA-EC has contributed thousands of dollars of its net proceeds to the other charity organization. Through its transformation journey, MCA-EC has helped Mangaloreans to Accelerate Growth Integrating Culture (MAGIC). To sustain this momentum and celebrate its success, the members are excited to celebrate its 10 year milestone 2019 in NJ. On this very unique and special Decennial event celebration, we are expecting about 500 attendees. The event will have variety of cultural programs and publicity through media coverage.
