Mangaluru, Mar 01, 2017: While arresting two more persons for alleged stone-throwing that damaged a few KSRTC buses on Saturday, the city police are preparing to initiate action against organisations and hold them accountable for causing damage to public property during hartal.

Speaking to presspersons on Tuesday, Police Commissioner M. Chandra Sekhar said they have arrested two persons. He said they are taking legal opinion on initiating proceedings against organisations and hold them accountable for the causing the damage. As many as 20 buses, a majority of them being KSRTC buses, were damaged during hartal called by Sangh Parivar activists on the day Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan visited the city.

In the last two days, the DK police have arrested seven persons in connection with six cases registered in connection with damage to KSRTC buses. Apart from accusing them under Section 427 of the IPC, the police have invoked provisions of the Karnataka Prevention of Development and Loss of Property Act.
