dakshina kannada covid-19Mangaluru, May 18, 2020: Two more COVID-19 cases reported in Dakshina kannada distirct on Monday, taking the total number of cases in the district to 54.

As many as 81 samples were received on Monday, in which two tested positive. The new patients are identified as 55-year-old woman from Yeyyadi and 30-year-old man from Karopady in Bantwal, who arrived from Raigad in Maharashtra and was under quarantine. The woman who had complained of breathlessness was admitted to Wenlock Hospital on May 16. The duo is being treated at the designated Wenlock Hospital.

P-578 -a 69-year-old male from Kasba village in Bantwal taluk recovered and discharged from the hospital today and a containment zone in Uppinangady was denotified after no positive cases were reported from that area.

With this the total number of active cases in Dakshina Kannada has increased to 32. So far five have died while 17 have recovered  from the infection.
