Karwar, March 24, 2020:  Two persons who arrived in Bhatkal from Dubai have  tested positive for Coronavirus, informed Uttara Kannada DC Dr K Harish Kumar.

Speaking to reporters  here on March 24, he said the two men aged 40 and 65 had  landed in Mangaluru by a flight from Dubai on March 21. Of the two, the 65 year old  man had reached Bhatkal by a train from Mangaluru.

Both of them had appeared for  Corona test on the day they had arrived and the reports which  were received today have confirmed  that they have tested positive.

Bhatkal is presently in lockdoown. The authorities will undertake fumigation in areas in the vicinity of the residences of the two, the  DC said and asked people to remain indoors.
