Kasargod, March 23, 2016: As per reports reaching here, several small children in an aganwadi here had a miraculous escape after the anganwadi building collapsed all of a sudden, without warning.

The incident occurred in Kuthikol Panchayat limits on Monday, when 12 kids were inside the building.

When the anganwadi teacher heard some crackling noise in the structure, she instantly sent all the kids and the helper out of the building. Within few minutes, the structure collapsed.

The building was quite old and was already in dilapidated state when the anganwadi started functioning there.

The incident brings back to limelight the long pending demand of the locals to build a new building for the anganwadi, which has not yet been fulfilled by the Panchayat.

It looks like a petty shop and not like anganwadi. The management has to concentrate on the maintenance too. Do the students pay for anganawadi?
