Mangalore, July 4, 2014 : A woman named Haseena who runs Chintan Marketing Private Ltd and also is part of Entrepreneurs Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society and Janashri Food Products is learnt to have cheated several people of lakhs of rupees after making different promises to them.
The Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike led by Yogish Shetty Jeppu met Mangalore Police Commissioner on July 3, Thursday and lodged a complaint seeking action against the woman. The Commissioner has reportedly promised to form a committee to investigate the case.
The Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike has warned of a protest in front of DC office if no action followed. Meanwhile, there is information that some of those cheated by the woman have lodged complaints in Kankanady and Pandeshwar police stations.
One Vijaya Nair who has been reportedly cheated by Haseena says she met the woman at RUDSET at Ujire. She says she had handed over the DD which she received from Bank to Haseena who had promised to provide materials to start a self employment venture. Until now, there is no sight of the materials, she laments.
Meanwhile, a resident of Pandeshwar, Nazeer says he has invested Rs 5 lakh in the Entrepreneurs’ Multi Purpose Co-operative Society for a period of two years and adds the cheque issued to him on expiry of the deposit period, had bounced. He alleges that Puttaswamy, the MD of the Society, Purushottam Rai, its President and Haseena, its vice president were involved in cheating.
