Mangalore, June 06, 2014:  Eminent Tulu playwright Vijaykumar Kodialbail has  urged the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the Samadhi of Vimalananda Swami is not shifted  from Kollur. The seer had expired on June 2 and there had arisen a controversy over the location of his Samadhi inside the Mutt precincts which is around 500 meters away from the Kollur Temple.

Vijaykumar Kodialbail has submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim on June 5, Thursday against shifting of the Samadhi and has warned of a protest  by devotees of the seer if any move was made to shift it.

Vijaykumar   said that the Swamiji was buried inside the Mutt premises itself as per the wishes of his Guru Nityananda Swamiji of Ganeshapuri, with the consent of the Kollur Temple  head Manjunath Adiga.

He further argued that it were Brahmins who opposed the burial of the Swamiji in the Mutt  mainly because the latter was a non-Brahmin. If the Samadhi of the seer has to be shifted then the  several other samadhis inside the Mutt too will have to be shifted, he said and once again requested the DC not to permit the shifting of the Samadhi of Nityananda Swami.

Maladi Balakrishna Shetty, Prem Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
