Mangalore, Jul 5, 2013: Teachers should create an environment wherein students are encouraged to read books and raise more questions to get their doubts clarified and enhance their reasoning power, said eminent social and consumer activist Dr Bhamy V Shenoy.
He was addressing the teaching staff of St Aloysius PU College on July 4, Thursday on the topic ‘Education Today.’ Continuing, Shenoy urged teachers to have a better interaction with students and added teaching should not be restricted to mere curriculum.
Shenoy also answered the queries raised by the teachers in an interactive session
Fr Denzil Lobo, Rector of St Aloysius College, introduced Bhamy Shenoy who is also an alumnus of the institution and is associated with Mysore Graharaka Parishat and an NGO called Pratham which is working in the field of providing education to children residing in slums.
Fr Elvis Lewis SJ, Principal, was also present among others.
