Truck illegally carrying over two tonnes of ’beef’ seized, 2 held

Mangaluru, Oct 18, 2020: City police seized a fish lorry illegally carrying over two tonnes of beef on Sunday, October 18.
Acting on information given by Hindu right-wing activists, personnel from Kankanady Town police station intercepted the lorry near Kannur-Padil and seized the vehicle.
Sources said that the beef was being illegally transported in a fish lorry from Hubli to Mangaluru. The police have arrested two people who were present in the vehicle.
