Traffic related woes dominate DCP’s phone-in programme

Mangaluru, June 5,2017: A number of traffic related problems including over speeding, autorickshaw drivers charging over and above the meter fare, illegal parking of vehicles, absence of footpaths etc came up  during the phone-in programme conducted by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), K M Shantaraju at the office of the Police Commissioner on June 4, Sunday.


TrafficResponding to a complaint, the DCP asked the people to click photos of traffic rule violations  and send them to Kudla WhatsApp Group No.  9480802312 so that action could be taken.

The issue of autorickshaw drivers at Mangaluru Junction railway station  fleecing  passengers came up. The DCP assured that the problem would be solved at the earliest.

The absence of road humps despite  the presence of several educational institutions at Vamanjoor, also was raised by a caller. The DCP said the issue would be brought to the notice of the authorities concerned.
