Udupi, Oct 12, 2017 : If presently two toll gates are functioning at Suratkal and Hejamady on the Padubidri-Karkala route, very soon another toll gate will start functioning at Belman much to the fury of the motorists.
The Government has already directed the State Highway Development Corporation to submit technical bid for the project by October 16.
Though the Karkala Padubidri stretch of 28 kms was developed as a State Highway in the year 2012 itself, the road has still not been handed over to the PWD. Even before this procedure is complete, the government has now decided to set up a toll gate at Belman.
Already several organisations, motorists as well as general public have opposed the toll gate proposal. The BJP will also be holding a protest at Belman on October 12, Thursday evening.

What is the need for collecting the toll in such a hurry . The roars are completed and free for travel has point in paying the toll unless then no. Public have to take stand in some cases. | |
