Three held for roughing up youth moving suspiciously in Kalladka

Bantwal, Jul 4, 2014: On the evening of July 3, as per reliable reports, a youth was assaulted while escorting his friend and his friends sister, when travelling by bus near Kalladka. Bantwal police have arrested three persons in this connection and booked a case it is understood. Qasim Rahim from Gauribidanur lodged a complaint in this connection with the police.


moral policeQasim and his friend Kiran were escorting Kiran’s sister who had arrived BC Road by train from Bangalore, went her former school, Sri Rama High school in Kalladka, to collect some documents. The locals became apprehensive as the two youth behaved stealthily while waiting for the girl. Further,  the people were agitated that during her visit by auto rickshaw to the house of her relative in near by Vogga, to collect  her personal effects, the two youth waited for her suspiciously.

The girl and the  2 boys were forced out from a bus at Kalladka town by a group of locals, who objected to the presence of a Muslim youth with Kiran and his sister. The people questioned them and in the process assaulted the two boys.

The matter became tense in Kaladka, the police sent the three visitors to the police station located at B C Road by an auto rickshaw. Qasim Rahim said in his complaint, that three men, who intercepted the auto rickshaw near K C Road, dragged him out of the vehicle and beat them up.

It is clarified,  the girl native of Udupi, pursuing a degree course in a college  stays at a hostel in Brahmavar near Udupi. She had completed her PU education in a college in Bangalore, parents run a shop. After visiting her parents for some days, the girl was returning to Brahmavar with the above two persons who are said to be past students of the PU college in which she had studied.

As per reports, Bantwal town police said  local youth , Viswanath, Shivaraj, and Vijit, were arrested and released.
