Udupi, Feb 06, 2015: The three-day mega rural job fair ‘Pravruthi-2015’, organised by the SMV Institute of Technology, began on its premises at Bantakal in Udupi district on Thursday.
A release by the Institute here said there was good response from job seekers from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts on the inaugural day.
The fair had more than 2,000 registrations within a few hours of its inauguration. The fair is open to the current final year students and passed out batch students of the degree and engineering colleges.
Nearly 34 companies, including several multinationals, offering jobs in fields such as IT development, ITES, BPO, tech support, finance, accounting, marketing and others, are participating in the fair.
Vishwavallabha Tirtha Swami of Sode Mutt inaugurated the job fair. Speaking on the occasion, R.S. Aithal, Principal of the Institute, urged graduates of the region to make use of the opportunity and participate in the fair, which would continue for the next two days.
