Mangaluru, May 17, 2018: Three children from Mangaluru drowned while swimming in a water tank of a temple in Nagueshi village of Ponda taluk in South Goa, the police said.

GoaThe deceased were identified by the Ponda police as Aditi Bhat, 12, Bhuvaneshvar Bhat, 8, and Shravan Hola, 7, all from Mangaluru. They were visiting Goa with their parents and were on a pilgrimage in Ponda that is known for its temples, including the Nagueshi temple.

“The children had gone for a swim while the parents were offering prayers at Nageushi temple. All three bodies have been extracted from the tank and have been sent for post mortem,” a spokesperson of Ponda police said.
