Three TV channels get notice under KCOC Act

Udupi, Dec 2, 2015 :  The Udupi district police have issued notice to three Kannada news channels under Section 2 of the KCOC - Karnataka Control of Organised Crime, Act 2000 for their reporting on the underworld don Bannanje Raja in connection with the murder of businessman R.N. Nayak in Ankola.

Three TV channels get notice under KCOC ActSources in the Police Department here Dec 1 said that the police had sought details about the broadcast, after the murder of Nayak, and the purpose behind it.

The notice was issued by Superintendent of Police of Udupi district. SP Annamalai was the investigating officer in the Nayak murder case. Bannanje Raja was extradited from Morocco to India in August 2015.  He is facing 44 cases. Bannanje Raja is accused of being involved in the Nayak murder case.
