Thieves steal sandalwood tree from IGP compound !

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Aug 21,2017 : In a shocking case, a sandalwood tree has been found to be stolen from the  compound of the bungalow at Maryhill where Western Range IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar is staying.

Sources reveal that the tree was  stolen at least four days ago despite the round the clock security provided to the residence of a police officer who heads four districts.

It is said the tree was stolen on August 17, the day when the erstwhile IGP Harishekharan  handed over charge to Hemanth Nimbalkar. Sources reveal that the theft might have taken place in the intervening period when Harishekharan vacated the premises and Nimbalkar occupied it.

Even the roots and the trunk of the  tree have been removed by the thieves leaving no hint that a tree was at the spot.
