Mangaluru, Nov 14, 2017: DYFI activists and the local residents staged a protest on Monday at Thaudugoli, demanding KSRTC bus from Mangaluru to Montepadavu, Manjanady.

The protesters warned of holding a bandh if the authorities fail to start a KSRTC bus service.

"We have been demanding KSRTC bus to Montepadavu, Manjanady, for the past several years. Owing to private bus operators’ lobby, however, the authorities have failed to start a KSRTC bus to the region. Majority of the villagers have been depending on private buses to travel for work and education in Mangaluru. However, the private bus operators have been engaged in cutting the trips and the buses are overcrowded," they complained
