Telephone pole falls on man at Alankar, killed

Alankar, Apr 09, 2018: A truck that was  reversing  knocked down a telephone pole which fell on the head of a passerby, resulting in his death. This incident took place at Alankar.

unnamed.jThe deceased has been identified as Girish (32) son of Late. Angar from Balaji in Kunturu. This incident took place in front of the wine shop on Saruli road. The victim had just procured rations from a petty shop and was walking towards his home. As he was reaching the motor rickshaw the incident took place.

It is being said that the truck carrying soft drinks had come to a shop and when leaving attempted the reverse in a rash and negligent manner which lead to the incident. Girish sustained grievous injuries after the telephone pole fell on him. The truck driver immediately rushed the injured to the hospital. He was later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment. He died within moments of reaching the hospital.

Kadaba police visited the location, carried investigation and seized the truck. Girish was working as a laborer and rubber tapping. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
