PUTTUR, June 1, 2013 : Even as the Perne LPG tanker tragedy that claimed the lives of 11 persons is still afresh in public minds, another gas tanker has overturned at Nelyady resulting in gas leakage on June 1, Saturday morning.
Traffic on the route has been disrupted following the mishap. An HPCL team is yet to reach the spot to plug the leakage. But, fire service personnel are already at work at the spot.
The lackadaisical approach of gas tanker drivers despite the recent tragedy that claimed several lives and damaged several houses, has invited public ire. Even the inaction of the district administration in ensuring that such tragedies did not recur, has come under criticism.
