Talented child magician Puttur Sathwik Nayak chosen for President’s Award

Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2014: Renowned child magician Puttur Sathwik Nayak who is  known for his magic shows which also try to create an awareness on down syndrome, has been chosen for the President of India’s Award to be presented on Children’s Day this year.

The Department of Women and Child Welfare of the Union Government chose him for the Award based on the recommendations of Puttur MLA Shakuntala Shetty.

 The Award presentation ceremony will be held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan on November 14. Sathwik will receive a silver medal, a certificate apart from a cash of Rs 10,000 as part of the Award. He will receive the Award along with his differently abled uncle Puttur Suresh Nayak who holds a Limca Record.

Sathwik, an UKG student is the proud son of Umesh Nayak and Roopashree of Puttur and has so far given over 100 magic shows in schools, old age homes and at other functions. Sathwik Nayak has also made his way into the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

In another novel move, he will campaign on Swach Bharath through magic. The shows will be held from November 12 to December 7 in Delhi and Haryana.
