Suspicious death of housewife : Hubby, mother-in-law arrested

Moodbidri, Apr 27, 2018: Police have arrested the husband and mother-in-law of a housewife who had allegedly ended her life by jumping into a well  at Kurtanda in Daregudde on Tuesday night. The arrest follows complaint from the parents of the woman alleging that their daughter was murdered.

 

The deceased woman Jyothi (33) hailed from Punjalakatte. She was given in marriage to Dinesh Shetty, a farmer 11 years ago. The couple has two daughters aged 9 and 4.

Jyothi’s children were sent to their grandmother’s place ten days ago itself. On Tuesday  night only Jyothi, her husband and mother-in-law were at home.

Though initially it was thought to be suicide, locals raised suspicion that the body would not have been found floating if it was a suicide.

Both the accused Dinesh and Vanaja have been produced before the court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
