Mangalore,Mar 2, 2014 : The Sullia police have arrested one person who was in possession of heroin and counterfeit currency worth Rs 31,12,380. The heroin weighed 120 grams and was valued at Rs 76,200. The seized currency notes included 148 notes of Rs 500 denominations and 22 notes of Rs 100 denominations.
Informing this to reporters here on March 1, Saturday, TP Shivakumar, Additional SP said the operation followed a tip off. The person identified as KM Imthiyaz alias Inthiyaz (30) who was travelling in a bike was intercepted near Adkar Vinobhanagar in Jalsoor of Sullia taluk by the police. Though he tried to escape, the police managed to arrest him and seize his bike, heroin and counterfeit currency, the Additional SP informed. Apart from counterfeit currency he also had genuine currency valued at Rs 180, the Additional SP said.
Sullia Circle Inspector Shivakumar, Probationary DySP Sajeeth were also present.
