Sullia : Veterinarian drowns in Payaswini river

Sullia, Oct  14, 2015 :  Prabhaker Nayak (45), a government veterinarian at Panaje  has reportedly drowned while bathing in the Payaswini river at Paladka Anjikar in Sullia taluk on October 13, Tuesday evening. He was a resident of Ariyadka village in Puttur taluk.


As it was Dasara holidays for children, Nayak along with his family had been to Mysuru recently. On their return journey the family had visited a relative Lakshminarayana Nayak’s house at Paladka. It was during this visit that Nayak decided to have  bath in the river but was carried away by the strong current. Other family members rushed to the spot when Nayak’s two sons raised a cry on seeing their father drown.

The Fire Service personnel  with the help of locals are are still searching for Nayak’s body.
