Sullia, Dec 10, 2016 : The Pancha Theertha Sapta Kshetra Ratha Yatra, a three-day long event aimed at prevailing upon the government to drop the controversial Yettinahole Project, was flagged off at Subrahmanya on December 10, Saturday. The Yatra is led by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
The Yatra commenced after a symbolic event wherein priests from the famous Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple collected water from the River Kumaradhara and poured it into a Kalasha.
The Yatra will pass through seven Kshetras or famous pilgrim centres of the district and in the course would collect waters from Netravathi, Phalguni, Nandini and Shambhavi rivers. The Yatra will conclude at Kateel.
