Suicide attempt : Woman dies, twin daughters survive

Belthangady, Feb 05, 2019:  A woman of Shivamogga origin who was residing in a rented house at Ujire Belalu was found hanging with her  twin children aged  around two and a half years. If the woman died, the two children have survived and are being treated at the government  hospital in Mangaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Baby (23) of Hosanagar. Her kids Akshara and Apsara have survived despite being hanged by their mother. The reason behind Baby’s extreme step is not known.

Her husband Praveen works in a saloon in Ujire. He found his wife and kids hanging when he arrived home in the evening. if Baby had died by then, the kids who were alive were rushed to the hospital with the help of neighbours.

Praveen was earlier running a saloon in Hosanagar and the family had shifted to Ujire two years ago.  As the death occurred within four years of marriage, the case has to be probed by the Tahsildar as per rules.

A complaint has been lodged by the brother of the deceased woman.
