Students exhorted to give priority to hard work, discipline

Manipal, Nov 29, 2015 : Faizal Kottikollon, founder and Chairman, KEF Holdings UAE, on Saturday emphasised on ethics of hard work and discipline. He was speaking on the third day of the 21st convocation of Manipal University at KMC Greens, here.

 Kottikollon, an alumnus of MIT -  Manipal Institute of Technology exhorted confidence and optimism in the students by citing examples from his own life; after graduating from MIT and T.A. Pai Management Institute here.

He said he had left from here with an extremely strong ethics of hard work and discipline that was instilled in him from the faculty and his peers. “I had an outlook to the world that was far more enhanced than my peers at other institutions. But more than that, I had a value system that allowed me to recognise the importance of inclusive growth and prosperity,” he said.

He said he had promised Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s recent visit to Dubai that he would provide cheap housing to India. “I will present a house for Rs. 5 lakh in March next year in Chennai,” he said. “Technology can be used to construct buildings at a much lesser cost and in a shorter time period,” Mr. Kottikollon said.

The toppers in various courses were presented gold medal on the occasion. The gold medal winners are: Beenaben Bahadursinh Mahida (B.
