It was also alleged that many students who could not pay the high fine amount were denied hall tickets. Some students said the college collected fine amount ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 70,000 from each student though the fine amount fixed by the University was Rs 900 per subject for attendance shortage.

Some students who were denied hall tickets also claimed that the University records showed that they had no attendance shortage.  They even stated  that according to the Principal a fee of Rs 700 was collected per every additional class.

However, Dr PS Aithal, Principal of the Institute claimed that no fine was demanded from the students and that additional classes were conducted  just to ensure that the students who had attendance shortage could appear for exams.

It has now been gathered that finding no other way many students had paid the fine amount to appear for exams which begins on October 16, Thursday.
