Udupi, July 2, 2013 :    State Health  and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has said that the  government has already taken measures to appoint 350 doctors and 2500 ‘D’ Group workers in the health department which was facing shortage of staff.

He was presiding over a progress review meeting of the Department of Health held at the DC office meeting hall on July 1, Monday. This is Khader’s maiden visit to Udupi after taking charge as health minister.

On this occasion, the minister advised the government hospital staff to treat patients with courtesy and provide them the best possible treatment.

Dr Ramachandra Bairi, District Health and Family Welfare Officer informed the meeting that a total of 658 Malaria cases have been detected in the district this year so far  and that an awareness is being created among the people regarding the symptoms of the disease through a door to door visit. He said there have been no Dengue deaths in the district.

On this occasion, the minister informed that one dialysis machinery would be sanctioned to every taluk level government hospital in the state next year.

 MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who was present, requested the minister  to upgrade the Udupi district hospital which   has the facilities of a taluk hospital.

Deputy Commissioner Dr MT Reju, ZP Vice President Upendra Nayak, ZP Deputy Secretary Pranesh Rao and Health Department officials attended the meeting.

from 6 years karnataka health department has not recruited staff nurses so far. Those who are completed their courses wandering like a bikaris. Please recruit vacant staff nurses very urgently or else we will die
