Stemcon 2023 National Conference oraganized at KSHEMA

Mangaluru, Dec 02, 2023: The 5th Biennial National Conference on "Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine: From Concept to Clinical Practice " was oraganized by Nitte University Centre for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine (NUCSReM), Department of Orthopaedics, Department of Dermatology and Department of ENT, KS Hegde Medical Academy and AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. This conference celebrated the decennial of NUCSReM, with 250 participants (delegates) and eminent speakers (national and international) the conference presided.

 

 

 

The chief guest for the conference was Prof. (Dr.) Seok- Jung Kim, Director Cell Therapy Centre, The Catholic University of Korea. Prof Kim was instrumental in setting up the Stem Cell centre in KSHEMA in 2013 and was felicitated by the organising team for his scientific excellence and his support towards NUCSReM.

Dr.Shantaram Shetty, the presiding officer for the day spoke about the importance of stem cell research and the issues that are faced in the stem cell research in terms of statuary obligations. Dr.Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice President ( ISR & CRL) , Nitte (DU) stressed the importance of converting the findings of stem cell research from bench to bedside. Dr . M S Moodithaya , Vice Chancellor Nitte (DU) congratulated the entire team of STEMCON-2023 and emphasized on the importance of stem cell research. Dr Praveenkumar Shetty, Director ( R& D) , Nitte (DU), Dr.AmrithMirajkar, Vice Dean, KSHEMA, Prof. (Dr.) US Krishna Nayak, Dean AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences were present.

Dr.Jayaprakash Shetty, Vice Dean, KSHEMA welcomed the gathering. Dr.Mohana Kumar, Associate Professor, NUCSReM presented the citation of Dr.Soek Jung Kim and Dr. A Veena Shetty, Convenor, STEMCON-2023 proposed the vote of Thanks. Dr.Shilpa S. Shetty, Assistant Professor G- II , CRL , KSHEMA was the master of ceremony.
